So we are here in beautiful Naples, Florida. I woke up this morning, walked out on the porch that overlooks the ocean and saw nothing but blue skies and sun. Before I get into how amazing this place is, lets back up to how we got here. We took a cab to the airport thinking that leaving in the middle of the day on a Wednesday, we would have no problem getting to Midway in plenty of time. Little did we know that Stevenson would be a parking lot. It was so bad that our cab driver drove up the shoulder for close to two miles to get us to the Cicero exit. We made the plane in enough time (nothing like a $28 cab ride that turned into a $45 cab ride at 2:45 on a Wednesday) and strapped in for two and a half hour flight. Within 5 minutes I knew we were in for some serious trouble because two rows ahead of us were two two year olds who were already out of control. But, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong. I am not joking when I tell you one of them was screaming at all times during the entire flight. It didn't stop unless the two were running up and down the aisle. There was some high quality parenting going on. That was two rows in front of us. The row behind us were a yenta couple who were sitting aisle/aisle. They talked loudly the entire flight. That didn't include their two friends who came up and stood in the aisle right next to me and proceeded to yack away for a good hour. Leah always sleeps on flights and she couldn't sleep. I had my ipod, but that couldn't even drown out the kids. Luckily it was only 2 and a half hours. Serenity Now.
But I digress. We are here now staying at the condo of our family friends the Simon's. I'll say this - this is why being rich doesn't suck. Their condo is incredible. It is on the 9th floor of a high rise overlooking the ocean. It has 4 bedrooms and everything in here is so nice and neat. There is nothing this place doesn't have, including my high speed wireless network. This is definitely the life. My mom went for a walk this morning and is back already and Leah is still asleep. I am waking her up in 15 minutes and we are headed to the pool for our first day of sun. I'll be back tomorrow.....oh oh oh bye now.
